Web did what warlord did, opening the files and clicking the hoi4.exe to start the game, and that failed. Web the launcher is an indirect way of launching the game so for simplicity sake; I checked task manager and it was in fact running, just not doing anything. In the game launcher set display mode to borderless. What i did was to: Web 🥉 join as a member: Turns out, 2 files weren't being read (vcruntime140.dll and msvcp140.dll). I can get into the launcher but the game fails to launch (please see the attached). Web click the processes tab. Also if you have fraps or the msi gaming app or rivatuner installed, disable it as it clashes with this game.
I checked task manager and it was in fact running, just not doing anything. Ended up copying and pasting those files into the main hearts of iron iv steam folder, and the game loaded. Web hoi4 launching the game failed when i started the launcher and pressed the play button it says in a red triangle with an exclamation mark near the play button that launching the game failed i tried everyhting unsubscribe from all mods, reinstall the game verify integrity of game files but nothing seemed to work out Right click hoi4 then click on end task.
